Three Hundred and Seven Miles

Outside of Prague, cycling or hiking from city to city or town to town is something that people do on a regular basis. People like to go out and explore their surroundings while they commute to work or go out to eat at a restaurant. In fact, many of my Czech friends who have visited America have expressed that even though America is large and has a lot of natural beauty, that they felt suffocated and claustrophobic when visiting there because people don't use the streets and the environment in the same way as in the Czech Republic. Private property exisits in Czechia, but people often use land more like a public space. Crossing someone's field or forest as a shortcut while you stroll home is very common and much more enjoyable than taking the bus or a car.
