I traveled to a city called Meissen, which is located about thirty minutes away by train. Meissen is up the River Elbe. I went to visit a family who lives up there.
I have only traveled thirty minutes away from Dresden on this journey so far. Because of the Covid restrictions, I have stayed pretty close to home so far. But I am hoping to go to Paris in two weeks!
I walked most of the week to the grocery store, church and other activities. In order to travel to Meissen, I took the train.
The most interesting place I visited was the Pillnitz Castle outside of Dresden. The castle is very beautiful. It was built right on the river by the royal family of Saxony. It was one of their summer palaces. They also built detailed and intricate gardens around the castle that visitors can see today.
