This week I traveled to the city of Naples (Napoli, in Italian), a distance of 25.97 km or 16.14 miles.
The furthest I have traveled since my arrival in Italy was to Budapest, Hungary which is 1,467 km or 912 miles from Sorrento.
Most of my transportation was on foot (walking). But, to get to Napoli, we took a bus. To get to Pompeii, we took the train.
This week was full of fun, local travels! I would say visiting the sea turtles in Naples or touring Pompeii were my favorites.
On Sunday February 23rd, I took a train to Pompeii. My friends and I went on a walking tour with a guide who told us about the history, which was very interesting! Pompeii is an ancient Roman city located near Mount Vesuvius, which, at the time of ots eruption in 79 CE (Common Era), or roughly 2,000 years ago, the citizens didn't know was an active volcano. The city of Pompeii was large, with a population of 10,000-20,000 people. When Mount Vesuvius volcano erupted.
