A Warm and Tropical Singapore

This process quickly clears out the land and prepares it for the newer generation of oil palm trees. However, the consequence of this method is that the burning creates a thick haze that travels all the way to Singapore. This haze is at its worst from June until October, and it can cause health-related issues for the citizens of Singapore. There are efforts being made to reduce the amount of slash-and-burn clearing in Indonesia and Malaysia, but the problem of haze still persists.

How have people been adapting to this environment?:

In general, technology has made things easier for people living in Singapore to deal with the natural environment. For example, it is always hot and humid outside, regardless of the time of day. As a result, nearly every building has permanent air conditioning to help people stay comfortable inside. Also, people will wear lightweight and breezy clothing to help reduce their amount of sweat throughout the day.
