Barbecues and Moon Cakes!

Even though the ways that people celebrate the Moon Festival have changed over time, it has always been a day to recognize the fall full moon harvest, to come together as a family, and to pray for a good future.

Is this tradition connected to its environment? How?:

The origins of the Moon Festival come from the ancient Chinese tradition of worshiping the moon. The day always falls on a full moon, which is one of the reasons why people like to barbeque outside so they can view the moon with their family and friends. Even the shape of the round moon cakes that people eat symbolizes completeness or reunion. In this way, the special celebration of family coming together and good harvest is represented by the moon.
