What time does school start, and what time do you go home?:

“School starts at 8:00 AM, and finishes at 2:00 PM or 3:00 PM or 4:00 PM.” Grace’s school finishes at different times on different days of the week. On Fridays, for example, they finish at 2:00 PM.

How do you get to school? Are you allowed to go to school by yourself?:

Grace’s parents take her to school by car. After school, she is picked up by her family’s maid and dropped off at my school (where her mom works).

Where do you eat lunch? What is your favorite food?:

“I eat lunch at school or at home. I love spaghetti and meatballs!”

What language do you speak at school? How do you say "Hello" in your language?:

“I speak Kannada and English. Hello in Kannada is Namaskara.”

What are some common kids' names at your school?:

“Annya, Ishanvi” Some other kids’ names in Bangalore are Ahana and Ishani.

What subjects do you study in school, and which one is your favorite?:

“Lots! Science, art, music and math are my favorites.”

What is your homework like?:

“I get a little bit of homework.” Most of Grace’s homework is in the form of worksheets and books that she has to fill out.

What do you like to do after school? Do you have a favorite sport or game?:

“I like to play with my friends. I play football and basketball at school.”

Who is your favorite famous person?:

“My mom!”

What kinds of music do you listen to?:

“Dancing music and Bollywood music.”
