I've traveled around Vietnam a lot. Every year I go to towns called Nha Trang, Hoi An, Da Nang, Phan Thiet, Phu Quoc and Vung Tau. I once went to Thailand for five days -- my only time outside of Vietnam. I traveled by airplane a lot when I was in the war. I went to Nha Trang a lot on my weekends off from the military, then came back to Saigon on Monday.
I manage my brother's coffee shop in Can Tho now that I am retired. I used to work in imports and exports for a long time when I was younger. We shipped canned foods, such as mushrooms, pineapples and mangos to countries all over the world.
It’s important to know the real Vietnamese people, the truth of the country here. If you talk to people from Vietnam, instead of listening to TV or going to museums, you'll know what we're really like. The people are the truth.
