After about ten minutes of stalking its prey, the lizard jumped out, caught the dragonfly in mid-air, then slinked away so no one else would try to steal its dinner.
Even though there aren’t native monkeys around here, I saw one the other day as I was running near the river. It was hanging out near a construction site, swinging from heavy machinery alongside a few roosters and a bunch of dogs. I’m not sure why it’s there, but it looked at me suspiciously, protecting its turf at all times.
