The main language spoken here is German! At my research lab, most people also speak English, but all the signs and street names are in German. Many people here also learn a little bit of French in school.
We use a type of money called the euro! One euro is almost the same as one U.S. dollar. Fun fact: all the money here comes in different colors! The 10 euro bill is red, and the 20 euro bill is blue. There are even yellow, orange, and purple bills, all worth different amounts!
A bottle of water costs 80 cents.
This week, my roommate and I picked some wild garlic from our garden and used it to make a green pasta sauce! We combined the garlic leaves with some olive oil and nuts, and it was really delicious. My favorite meals are always the ones I get to make with fresh vegetables.
My favorite singer is Taylor Swift! I listened to a lot of her music this week while traveling. I'm really excited for her new songs to come out next week. I have also been listening to some popular German music to keep improving my German skills.
