This week I traveled from Gland to Geneva for classes and briefings. Additionally, I went to local cafes in Nyon (the munucipality next to Gland) to do homework and hangout with people. It is our second home base besides Geneva. On the weekend I traveled to Zurich, which is three hours away by train. It is long but the views on the way are breathtaking.
Using my Swiss pass, which is a public transportation travel card, I have been able to go to Italy by train. It covered the journey down to the border, and then I paid 22 francs to get into Italy. The train system has allowed me to travel more than I thought was possible, whether in Switzerland or outside to neigboring countries. I have had the opportunity to travel to Spain, Portugal, Netherlands and soon Paris.
I also had an excursion in Morocco as a part of my program, so I was able to visit Rabat, Casablanca and Merrakesh. It has been eye opening and wholesome experience to see a different culture and how its community and health function.
