Travel News

How far did I travel this week?:

This week, the farthest I traveled was to City Centre (Downtown Dublin), so a little less than a half hour bus ride.

How far have I traveled on this journey so far?:

Aside from my flight from the United States, so far, I have traveled around much of Ireland. Some of the places include Limerick, Howth, Galway, Cork and Cobh. As previously mentioned, I also traveled to Belgium and Luxembourg. That is the farthest I have traveled...during my time here, anyway!

How did I get around this week?:

This week, I got around almost entirely on foot with the exception of two instances when I rode the bus.

What was the most interesting place I visited this week?:

I have the opportunity of studying in Ireland because of the Fulbright program. The U.S. Department of State hosts this program, and it allows students and professionals to study, research and learn in places all over the world. It also lets people from other countries do the same in the United States.

Sometimes the Fulbright staff in Ireland put on events for those of us here. This week I got to take a tour of 14 Henrietta Street. This is a house that can transport you through the history of Dublin. It started as a house for wealthy people. I'm talking people with titles like "The Right Honorable" and "Lord Chancellor".
