Czech This Out!

The ground was slippery from wet leaves and the walk felt endless, but every step gave us a better view of the rooftops and church towers below. When we reached the top we took our time enjoying the views, then climbed the tower and went through the mirror maze. This was hilarious with a big group, and the distorted reflections and confusing pathways had everyone laughing.

Next, my cousin David met up with us. He lives in Prague and was excited to take us somewhere local for  traditional Czech food and beer. Although I wanted my friends to see all the tourist spots of Prague that are beautiful, I also wanted them to experience the local side. The moment we sat down and saw the menu written only in Czech, with no English translation, we knew it was the real thing. Eventually, I was able to translate everything for the whole group and help everyone find something they might want to eat. I ordered goulash with dumplings and two beers, and the whole meal cost nine dollars. It tasted like home, and everyone agreed it was one of the best meals of the trip.

We went to another pub afterward and met two more of my cousins, which turned the whole night into a small family reunion. I loved having everyone meeting my family after speaking so much about them. After some drinks and a lot of laughter we went back to our Airbnb to rest. Later, we headed out again to an 80's themed bar. The neon lights and old music made it feel like a scene from a movie. We danced for hours and then wandered the empty streets of Prague. Seeing the city so quiet felt surreal, since it is usually packed with people. Eventually we made our way home and slept.
