How Do I Get From Here to There?

Introduction:

Every day I need to go to the University for class, or to the foodstore for groceries, or to the library for books. While I love walking around, sometimes I am carrying way too much (I have a lot of school books and papers) or the weather is not very pleasant (too rainy, too cold, or too windy). On these occasions, I take the bus, a magical form of public transportation that gets me from here to there: on time!

How do people get around?:

In Saarbrücken people use a mix of transportation methods: cars, buses, trams, bikes, and their own feet. On weekday mornings, the roads will be filled with cars, bikes, and buses crammed with people.

How did I feel when I tried this way of getting around?:

Funnily enough, the first three times I tried to catch a bus in Saarbrücken, I ended up missing it. I like to be early just in case, so even though this experience was frustrating, I still had time to figure out how to get to where I needed to go. Eventually I realized that my mistakes were due to construction around the city that had changed some of the bus routes.

Now that I know the system better, I feel much more comfortable travelling by bus. There are three buses that will get me directly to the university from my home so I have memorized their numbers.
