What music did I listen to this week?:

I have been listening to a lot of Tom Misch and Daniel Cesar lately. I really love both of these artists because they mix rap, pop and jazz. Daniel Cesar is also coming to Indonesia to play this summer, so I'm really excited about that. When I first arrived, I was so suprised to learn how popular he was here. At home, I rarely hear him playing in coffee shops, but in Bali it is common. I've noticed that a lot of R&B or slower jazzy music is popular here.

What activity was the most fun this week?:

This week I went to Ulun Danu Temple. This temple is in a lake in the north of Bali. The temple is a hindu temple for the water goddess "Danu". At the temple we were also able to take a small paddle boat out of the lake and just enjoy the sunshine and the views.

What did I read this week?:

I am currently reading "Game of Thrones" because the new season came out recently. The books are amazingly detailed and well written.

What games or sports did I play this week?:

I surf about 3-5 times a week here in Bali. Surfing is a big part of the culture in Canggu and in southern Bali. I love surfing because it reminds me to keep trying even when things get hard. You might not get the first wave, but, if you keep trying, you will eventually catch one. My favorite time to surf is sunset because the waves are usually smaller and it is beautiful to see the sunset from the water.

I also play soccer every Wednesday. I play on a team that is a mix of expats and locals and we play in a local league. I love it because it is a chance to be active and I also think sports are a great way to overcome language barriers.
