Since arriving here in South Africa, the weather in Cape Town has been very hot and sunny almost every day, so I've been wearing lots of sunscreen! This week, we finally had a few cloudy days and a bit of rain. Alongside the rain, there was strong wind that nearly blew me away!
While I didn't make it to the beach to see any penguins this week, I saw a cat and a baby squirrel chasing one another on my walk to class! I have also met several dogs and dog owners in coffee shops! Cats and dogs are common pets here in South Africa, just like they are in the United States.
On Saturday, after it rained, a rainbow appeared in the sky! It created a full arch, and even a partial double rainbow. Shortly after the rainbow disappeared, the sun set and painted the sky bright orange. These views of the sky over the vast city were simply stunning. How beautiful!
