The Excitement of Traveling in Spain!

Introduction:

There are so many forms of transportation you’ll see around Barcelona every single second of the day! In the morning, depending on how I start my day, I decide if I’d like to take the bus, the train or both the bus and train. To get to school, there are several different routes I can take, too! I have a special ticket called the “T-Mobilitat.” It's a green card that also has your name on it. You’ll see it in the pocket, purse or phone of almost everyone who lives in Barcelona. It lets you ride anywhere in the city as much as you want.

Since I’m here exploring and adventuring, I make the most of it! Traveling around really helps your mind. If you’re ever feeling down or want a small adventure, switching up your route to your destination -- even if it takes a few more minutes -- can feel refreshing! Maybe ask your parents if you can try that one morning on your way to school. You might have to wake up a little earlier, but it could make your morning more fun and help you see new sights.

In Spain, our different Metros are marked with tall red signs that have the letter “M.” Usually, nearby each metro station is a small coffee stand where people can grab a newspaper or magazine before they travel for the day. The next sign you’ll see shows the name of your metro station and the route.
