Interview With My Teacher Friend

What language(s) do you speak? How do you say "Hello" in your language?:

Tamil, English and Bahasa Malayu. I speak in English with my children most of the time, but sometimes we use Tamil.

Do you have pets?:

We have a pet dog named Suriya after an Indian actor. My kids really like our dog which is a little puppy. My husband got the dog from a former student. The dog is only a few weeks old.

Have you traveled? Where have you traveled to?:

India and around Malaysia. Every year, I travel to Johor (a state in Malaysia) about three to four times per year because my siblings live there. I also go on vacation in the Cameron Highlands, which is further north in Malaysia.

What do you do for work?:

I teach with Caroline. I teach physical education, civic education and moral subjects. I've been teaching for nine years.

Is there anything else you would like to say to students in the United States?:

Come visit Malaysia and try the food! Nasi lemak (rice with spices), dosa (Indian bread) and more!
