The weather's actually been a bit strange this week, I think. A few days ago, it was really hot. I was sweating, and it's supposed to already be fall! Suddenly, though, it has gotten cloudy and cool. Right now, the wind is blowing cold air through my window. I enjoy the cool weather so much more than hot days, so I'm glad it's finally looking like fall now. The trees are losing their leaves, but they're turning red and gold. It's a beautiful sight.
The Jardin des Plantes (say it: jar-DAN day-PLANTS) isn't just a garden of plants, which is what it means literally. It's also full of interesting animals. There are the usual Parisian animals, like pigeons and rats and bees, but the Jardin has a lot more than just that. In fact, part of it is a menagerie, or a little zoo. They have deer and exotic birds. They even have wallabies, little kangaroo-like creatures. They also have a couple of red pandas sitting in the bamboo!
