Greek Friend

How do you get around?:

I get around by car. The city has public transportation, but it isn’t the best. The bus can be late or really crowded, and we have had construction on a metro for years, but it hasn’t been finished yet. So instead, we use cars and taxis.

What types of clothing do you like to wear?:

I probably dress just like you do. I wear jeans, sweaters, t-shirts, shorts and tank tops. I love sneakers, and during the summers when the weather is really warm, I always wear sandals.

What do you like to do in your free time?:

I like to going out in the city, watching movies, drinking coffee downtown and shopping. I like to swim, but I don’t go to the beach too often. The water in Thessaloniki isn’t great for swimming since it is near a port, but there are beautiful beaches nearby in other towns.

What language(s) do you speak? How do you say "Hello" in your language?:

I speak English, Greek, French, and a little bit of German.

Gia (pronounced YA) is how you say "hi" in Greek. It's written like this: "γεια".

Do you have pets?:

I don't have any pets, but I would love to have a dog someday. A lot of people have dogs and other pets in Greece.

Have you traveled? Where have you traveled to?:

I've traveled around a lot. I’ve been to Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia, Hungary, Austria, Germany, Belgium, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal and Sweden. I’ve never been outside Europe though. I really want to visit the United States soon!

What do you do for work?:

Right now, I’m studying to be an economist.
