While I was there I saw bright red parrots, toucans, coatis and sloths!
From my town, the journey to La Fortuna typically takes 2 hours by bus. This time, however, they had closed down the main bridge for construction mere seconds before we were due to cross it! We then had to wait for them to finish their repairs before we could drive on… a process that added another hour and a half to the journey!
