Bonjour (Hello)! My name is Jessica and I am studying and working in Paris, France. I am a third-year student at New York University (NYU) in New York City, but we also have school locations in 12 other countries! I am at the NYU Paris site. To tell you a little bit about myself, I am 21 years old and I grew up in the small town of West Springfield in Massachusetts. I have one older sister named Jackie.
I went to a boarding school in Massachusetts for high school. My school had a lot of international boarding students. However, since I lived very close to the school, I was known as a domestic day student, meaning that I commuted each day from my house to campus. Meeting so many students who studied abroad in high school made me want to study abroad while I was in college.
I was a part of a travel program in high school called The Global Scholars Program. As a Global Scholar, I was able to travel to Turkey for a two-and-a-half-week program. In just a short amount of time I was able to see a lot of the major cities in Turkey, including Istanbul and Ankara. I stayed with a host family for a couple days on the trip and they took me on their boat so that we could swim in the Sea of Marmara.
