The main language spoken in Ireland is English. Almost all the natives know how to speak Irish, also known as Gaelic. However, English is the most commonly used language.
In Ireland they use euros as money. The one euro is a coin, as is the two euro. Bills start at five euros and go up, similarly to our dollar, with five, ten, 20, 50 and 100. It is very rare to find a penny. In one month I only came across one! There is a two-cent coin here, too.
A bottle of water cost about the same here as it does in the U.S., roughly one euro. However, not many people buy bottles of water. Everyone likes to drink the water straight from the faucet. It also helps reduce waste that way. People here would rather fill a reusable bottle instead of buying many different plastic bottles.
The best meal I enjoyed this week was made by my friends. They are also international students from other countries. On one plate I had food made by German and Vietnamese students.
