After the war between the two Koreas, South Korea lost its agricultural side and was left with a society that needed help from its allies, the United States. Largely because of this help, South Korea later underwent one of the largest industrial changes and become what it is today. Due to industrial growth and its population size, pollution is high, but there is also some beauty that is well maintained.
Korean environment is special in the sense that each season is distinct. The summers are hot and humid with the late summer and early fall in August being monsoon season meaning that there is really heavy rain. In the winter (which I am experiencing now), temperatures have dropped to three degrees Fahrenheit at night and under 20 degrees in the morning. It has also snowed multiple times in this one winter. Spring is beautiful with blossoming flowers and of special note are the local cherry blossoms.
An intricate part of Korea's environment is the Han River. This is a river that flows from the mountains in Korea through the city and ends at the Yellow Sea in China. It was once used as a trading route, but it is now the water source for over 10 million residents and is the biggest river in Korea.
