My metro card allows me to use the bus, metro and train as many times as I need! It is very convenient and lets me get to places far away easily since I don't have a car in Madrid.
The most interesting place I visited this week was the Palacio Real De Aranjuez. This is a historic royal residence located in the town of Aranjuez, about 31 miles south of Madrid, Spain. It was built in the 16th century during the reign of King Philip II and later expanded in the 18th century under the Bourbon dynasty, particularly by King Charles III.The palace was originally designed as a spring and summer retreat for the Spanish royal family. It is known for its beautiful architecture, vast gardens and proximity to the Tagus River. The surrounding gardens, like the Jardín de la Isla and Jardín del Principe, are filled with fountains, sculptures, and lush greenery, reflecting the grandeur of the Spanish monarchy.
October 12th is a national holiday in Spain known as Día de la Hispanidad, and the day celebrates the arrival of Christopher Columbus in the Americas on October 12, 1492, marking the beginning of cultural and historical ties between Spain and the Spanish-speaking world. The celebrations in Spain often include military parades, the most notable of which takes place in Madrid, attended by the King of Spain, members of the royal family and government officials.
