This week has been surprisingly rainy! It really poured yesterday, which is rare here. A typical day is partly cloudy; occasionally, it rains gently, but heavy rain is uncommon.
I see lots and lots of dogs when I’m out, of all shapes, sizes and colors. There’s also a pair of green birds that constantly flit about just outside my window; I think, based on a little bit of Googling, that they’re rose-ringed parakeets (but I’m not a birder!) I read that although rose-ringed parakeets are not native to France, there’s been a steady population of them in Paris ever since the 1970s, when around 50 escaped from the airport on their way to a Parisian pet store.
I think that Paris has done an excellent job of bringing a bit of nature into the city by having lots of parks and walkable green places within the city, such as the Parc Montsouris right across the street from where I live.
