French, of course, is the main language in Paris and everywhere in France, but there are many, many other languages present as well. Arabic has the second-most native speakers in the country, due to the large number of immigrants to France from Arabic-speaking parts of the world, including several former French colonies. There are also many regional languages such as Alsatian, Basque, and Corsican, native to various regions of France.
France’s traditional currency was the franc, but today, it uses the euro. The euro is a currency shared by 20 European countries (which make up the “eurozone”), and France was one of the first ones to adopt it in 2002.
A bottle of water costs about one euro (which is about $1.09 at the current exchange rates) from the vending machine in my building. Of course, the price varies depending on where you’re buying it. Touristy areas tend to be more expensive - I paid over three euros for a bottle of water at the famous Château in Versailles when I was there a few weeks ago.
