Здравствуйте, меня зовут Джастин (Hello, my name is Justin)!
I am 26 years old and from sunny Irvine, California. I love going to the beach, fishing, playing sports, and hiking in the mountains. Following my love for the mountains, I decided to move to Colorado to attend college at Colorado State University at the base of the beautiful Rocky Mountains, where I study languages, linguistics, culture, and Russian. Before college, I served in the Marine Corps, working for U.S. Embassies, where I fell in love with travel, meeting new people, and learning about new cultures. I have lived in 5 countries and traveled to over 20!
I am a Boren Scholar and a Gilman scholar, enabling me to study abroad this spring and summer. My new temporary home is in Georgia, not the state, but the country. Located between Russia and Turkey, I will live there for over 6 months as I study the effect of the Soviet Union and modern-day Russia on the surrounding countries and study the Russian language. I will live in the capital city of Tbilisi and the beach city of Batumi, staying with local families and speaking Russian most of the time. I am excited to share my adventures with you and cannot wait to hear about your school year! Let's go!
