This week the weather was very hot and humid! I had to wear lots of sunscreen to protect myself from the sun while at the beach. Here in Mozambique, it is now the fall. Mozambique has seasons opposite of the United States, so now that it is spring in the USA it falls here. When you go on summer break it will be winter in Mozambique! Winter is still very hot though. It is usually a bit cooler (around 70-80 degrees) and it rains more. It was a big adjustment coming from the beginning of spring in my home state of Virginia which was still pretty cold at the beginning of March, to the hot sunny beaches of Mozambican fall!
This week I got to see many amazing animals! I was out in the field this week and got to swim with a few whale sharks to take identification photos. No matter how many whale sharks I see I am always amazed at how beautiful they are. I also got to swim with a pod of 25 bottlenose dolphins! I really enjoy getting to view these incredible animals in their natural habitat.
