Look Παιδιά (Kids), It's a Kid's Life!

What chores do you have at home?:

My main chore is to make my bed, which I like doing, so it's hardly a chore at all. My mom sometimes asks me to tidy my room, too.

What jobs do your parents have?:

My mom is an elementary school teacher, and my dad is a builder who constructs houses.

What time does school start, and what time do you go home?:

School starts at 7:45 a.m. I get to go home at 1:10 p.m., but (like many kids here in Cyprus) I have private lessons after school, too, so my day is far from over at 1:10 p.m. I'll tell you more about those after-school lessons soon!

How do you get to school? Are you allowed to go to school by yourself?:

My mom drives me there since my school isn't within walking distance, and the way there isn't safe for bicyclists.

Where do you eat lunch? What is your favorite food?:

I eat lunch after school at my grandmother's house, but my favorite food is actually tacos from the restaurant Rio Bravo.

*An aside from Kirsten: the Cypriot school schedule doesn't include time for lunch, though it does have short ten to twenty minute breaks throughout the day during which students can eat snacks brought from home or bought at a little shop at school called "the cantine." Can you imagine waiting until after 1:00 p.m. to eat lunch? My stomach is always growling by 11 a.m. because I can't seem to get used to the new meal schedule!
