Celebraciones de Invierno en España (Winter Celebrations in Spain)

Introduction:

Hi all!

Today, I'm going to chat about common traditions for the winter holidays in Spain. There are a ton of winter holidays celebrated in Spain in noviembre (November) and diciembre (December). Many people in Spain celebrate Hanukkah which this year was from siete a quince de diciembre (the seventh to the fifteenth of December) or other holidays from their cultures or religions. However, most people in Spain celebrate Christmas. Unlike in the United States, Spain doesn't celebrate Acción de Gracias (Thanksgiving).

What tradition did I learn about?:

For this field note, I'm going to write about the Spanish celebrations of Navidad (Christmas). For most Spaniards, the biggest days of celebration are el veinticuatro de diciembre (the 24th of December), which is Nochebuena (Christmas Eve), and el seis de enero (the 6th of January), which is Three Kings Day. Unlike in America, most Spaniards don't look forward to presents from Santa Claus or Father Christmas on Christmas, but instead from the Three Kings (who, in Christian tradition, brought presents to baby Jesus) on Three Kings Day in early January.
