It would not be a personal choice for me to go in a cave, especially if that means getting half my body wet. But it was an interesting experience, as I was able to see things I would never normally have been able to see— the stalagmites and stalactites, the fossils, and the cool species that lived down under the ground. There was one part of the cave called the “Birth Canal”, which was a really narrow area, and if you really wanted to, you could squeeze right through it and basically “be birthed”. Since I was short enough, I really had no excuse not to do it.

Other Travel News from this week:

The roads in Costa Rica are, in a word, insane; however, the drivers always try their best to navigate the roads safely. As I mentioned in my previous articles, the cars in Costa Rica are stick-shift (manual) and a lot of the roads in Costa Rica are uphill, narrow, one-way, and, overall, very difficult to move around on. Once you get to rural areas, you’ll see more dirt and rocky roads, and as someone with motion sickness, those were not the greatest trips. Even my friends who usually never experience motion sickness were feeling queasy on some of these journeys. That is something definitely to keep in mind when traveling here in Costa Rica!
