What jobs do your parents have?:

The moms of Morocco are the ones who do everything related to cooking, cleaning, baking bread for the family and keeping the bonds of family and neighbors strong. In fact, most women, except in the bigger cities, work to take care of their family and rarely leave the house unless it's to visit family or sit outside and talk to the other women of the neighborhood. There is very little free time for moms here. Some also have side jobs as seamstresses in a small room of the house. Actually, sewing and repairing clothes is a very big industry here for both men and women. The dads do various jobs, such as farming, running a shop, selling fruit on the streets, teaching, or working in security or the police force.  They are rarely at home.

What time does school start, and what time do you go home?:

In general, the schools operate six days a week, and kids go to school just four of those days. School starts at 8:30 in the morning on some days, and other days it starts at 2:00 p.m. and goes until 6:00 p.m. Actually, it just depends on the capacity of the classrooms and the day of the week. It's all on a rotation system. However, earlier this year, the teachers were on strike for many months, so the kids had no school, but some went to the mosques to study the Qur'an.

How do you get to school? Are you allowed to go to school by yourself?:

Most kids walk to school, but some ride the "Transport" (school van).
