Fields of Flowers in a Land of Drought

Introduction:

I have a joke that I tell all of my friends and family back in the U.S. The joke is that the moment a drop of rain hits the ground here, something green and flowering seems to pop up overnight! It's like the coolest magic trick on earth in this already magical place. Let me show you what I mean.

What does this creature or plant look like?:

There are millions of wildflowers all across the northern part of the country right now, and it's mostly because we have had so, so much rain lately! We've had more than in a very long time. The fields are literally orange, yellow, red, white and purple. From my rooftop, there is a field close by that just looks like a lake of orange, which is so cool. Many of the plants have medicinal characteristics, and the people here put them in their teas or water during this time of fasting for Ramadan. Have you ever had zaatar water? It's very refreshing and great for the immune system.

How did I feel when I saw it?:

Not only was I surprised to see so many flowers up here in the north, but I was particularly surprised to see so many red poppies. Do you love red poppies as much as I do? There are also small orange flowers, probably the orange crown daisy. Actually, the name is perfect because the young girls braid this Moroccan daisy into "chains" for bracelets or crowns on their heads.
