The main and national language here is Greek. However, many of the locals that I have met also speak English, French and Spanish due to the tourism that exists on the island.
The currency that is used on the island is the euro, like many other European countries.
A large bottle of water is very inexpensive and costs 1 euro. A smaller average sized bottle costs 50 cents, if bought at one of the local shops.
The best meal I had during my stay was a traditional pork and rice dish. Meats, such as pork and lamb, are very central to Greek dishes. I also had falafel and gyros. For lunch, I had rice drizzled with sauce and vegetables, with pieces of pork on the side.
I listened to traditional Greek folk music as I was walking through the various traditional towns in Santorini. It was especially common to hear it playing in a lot of the smaller and traditional restaurants owned by locals.
