Who Should I Greet First?

Is this tradition connected to its environment? How?:

I do think it is very connected to the environment. Traditionally, people in Mongolia help take care of their parents when they become old. In the U.S., I think old people like to live in nursing homes or assisted living centers if they can afford it. In Mongolia, many families traditionally lived in gers and old parents would live with one of their many children. The whole family usually works together to take care of the older members of the family. Also, Mongolians are very generous to their families, and the biggest priority here is truly family. I think people are so respectful to their elders because their elders lived their whole lives trying to provide everything they possibly could to their family members.
