Traditional Food of Tarragona: What Would You Try First?

How is the food prepared?:

Out of all of the foods that I have talked about, I have only the pleasure of making the bread with tomato. I didn't make it because I felt like cooking, because I actually hate cooking, but rather because I had the opportunity to do it at my university with some classmates and my professor. The process was not hard.  All you need is some toasted bread, fresh tomatos, olive oil, any time of ham and salt. After you have gathered all your ingredients, you need to cut the tomato in half and spread it all over the bread. After that's done, you add as much olive oil as you want and sprinkle on some salt. Then, for my favorite part, you add some ham, and then enjoy it! It's really easy to make, so I hope you can try it!

Is this food connected to the local environment? How?:

Tomato bread is undoubtedly one of the emblematic recipes of Catalan cuisine. Some people have it only for breakfast, while others have it to accompany cold cuts and cheeses, but what never changes is the simplicity of its ingredients: bread, tomato, and extra virgin olive oil. Its origin is linked to traditional Catalan “Trash Cooking”. While café con leche (coffee with milk) stands at the center of daily life and tradition across Spain. From creamy morning café con leche to afternoon pick-me-up cortados, coffee punctuates Spanish routines with conviviality.
