I am six years old and I live in the city of Anvers, Belgium. I go to school, and the name of my school is Vita et Pax/Monteso Prepatory School. There are students from six to nine years old in my class. I am in second grade even though I'm only six because I skipped a grade. In French, second grade translates to en deuxième primaire. My teacher's name is Juf Lotte. The word Juf is néerlandais for "Miss." Néerlandais is the language that is mostly spoken in the north of Belgium. It is a very similar language to Dutch. Néerlandais and Dutch are like the Spanish of Spain and the Dominican Republic. The two are very similar, but there are some words and things that are said a bit differently. The north of Belgium is closest to the country of the Netherlands where they speak Dutch. My mother's side of the family speaks French and Dutch, and my father's side of the family mainly speaks Dutch. I am learning to speak Dutch, French and English.
In the mornings, I eat yogurt, fruit and some bread with jelly on top. At noon, I eat at school. They usually serve us bread with jelly spreads and vegetables. They also often give me tomatoes because I really like tomatoes. In the evening, at home, I eat a hot meal with my family.
