Number of sunny days this week: It’s been sunny all 5 days that we have been on the Amazon River.
Number of cloudy days this week: There have been a few clouds on the horizon, but they never seem to come overhead. In contrast to the day we were in Lima (when it was foggy in the morning), it is partially cloudy in the afternoon (apparently the weather is almost exactly the same every day in Lima at this time of year).
Number of rainy days this week: It rains 250 days a year in the Amazon. But it has not rained a single drop since we got here. Apparently, it rained up in the mountains this week as the river is now slightly higher than it was last week. In the Amazon, the dry season is from August to November.
Number of snowy days this week: Zero! Although it does snow in Peru, even though it is located very close to the equator. It snows in the high Andes Mountains at elevations above 12,500 feet high, where you can find snow-capped summits and glaciers.
