The weather this week was extraordinary! On my trip to Venice, the tide was the highest it has been in 60 years. The streets were flooded, and the water was waist deep.
This week I went to a cat café. In this café, about 20 cats roam freely. You can pet them and play with them while you drink tea or coffee. There are a few cat cafés in Manhattan where you can play with cats as well. The cats are all adoptable there, so the cat cafés help them to find new forever homes!
The coolest thing in nature this week was definitely the flash flood in Venice. I've never seen a city become flooded in one hour and then go back to normal on the same day. This phenomenon is called acqua alta, which is Italian for high water. It happens every four years and is due to a combination of strong tides and strong winds. Recently, the water has been higher partly due to climate change as well.
