In the beginning of the week, the weather started off pretty miserably; it was very rainy and cold. On Wednesday, I travelled to Herzliya, a suburb just north of Tel Aviv, known for its beautiful beaches, and my friend Sarah and I got caught in a storm! We were walking just two minutes from a hotel to a restaurant, and in those two minutes, we were completely soaked. The wind was so harsh that Sarah could not cross the street for a few minutes, and it felt like we were both going to fall over. However, when the weekend came, so did the sun! It was a beautiful weekend! It most definitely did not feel like a normal January for me with 70 degree weather and the sunshine.
This week I travelled to Ein Gedi, in the south of Israel, with my host family and their extended family. Ein Gedi is a nature reserve in the mountains of the Negev desert. On our car ride down, I was so excited when I was able to see wild camels from the car windows!
