Our News

We waited for about an hour for a table, but it was definitely worth it. Also, they had free cream puffs for the people waiting so I can’t really complain that much. Because we didn’t want to wait too long for our food, Tanila and Polly ordered and paid for our food online before we were even given a table. Once we sat down, our waitress scanned the QR code on Polly’s phone to receive the order. It wasn’t long until there were meats, a salad and soups sitting in front of us. At first, we wanted to wait for all the food to come out before starting to eat (you know, for the coveted food pic), but we just couldn’t wait! We ordered a meal that was advertised for a party of four, but the three of us went to town and finished it all. All the food was absolutely delicious; this meal was definitely a luxury!

What music did I listen to this week?:

So, on the rare chance that I was able to access American websites (China’s firewall blocks a lot of foreign websites), I found myself on Buzzfeed.com. There, I stumbled upon a video about a boyband called PRETTYMUCH. Back in my heyday, I was a big boyband fan, and after listening to PRETTYMUCH, I realized that maybe my fangirling days aren’t over. This week, I’ve pretty much (haha, see what I did there?) been exclusively listening to all of PRETTYMUCH’s songs on repeat. I may or may not be listening to them right now.

What activity was the most fun this week?:

This week, my friend, Ee Kheng, and I were able to meet up for a long overdue hang-out session. We always go out for coffee together and talk about the highs and lows of teaching in a foreign country. This time, I learned a little more about her.
