French!! Everywhere I go, I am forced to practice my French skills. The French really like to only speak in French. They rarely speak English, unless they need to. From my classes to the grocery store, I am constantly practicing my listening and speaking skills. Luckily, there are a lot of international students at my school, and many people speak English as well. I've even heard German, Italian, and Spanish, all while riding the tram to the center of the city.
Since France is a part of the European Union, they use the Euro (€). Right now, the $1 is equivalent to 0.85 € .
On average, a bottle of water costs about 1.5€ . However, a little fun fact: at most restaurants in France you actually have to pay for water! 1 litre of water can cost up to 5€.
This weekend, I travelled to Paris to spend time with my long-time good friend from Steamboat. On our way back to the hotel one evening, we ran into this hidden pathway under a tunnel with a small sign. We decided to follow it and found a hidden gem of a farm-to-table restaurant that was absolutely amazing! We definitely were the only Americans there, and only French was spoken.
