The weather has been getting better this week! Winter was really cold. The temperatures were usually below freezing and the mountain is covered in ice. My town even has a gigantic ice fishing festival to make the most of their winters. But for the past two weeks, the weather has been getting warmer. The snow has mostly melted, and the trees are becoming green again.
I saw a lot of dogs being walked by their owners around town, as well as a flock of geese sitting on the river. For the most part, though, I haven't seen a lot of wildlife this week.
My favorite part of living in Hwacheon is going for runs and walks in the evening. There are not a lot of people here, so the sky is filled with stars--something I rarely saw in Chicago. I've tried taking pictures of them before, but it's too hard to capture on my camera.
