Day in the Life of Ecuadorian Eighth Graders!

Tayler: My dad is a architectural engineer and my mom is a bank teller.

Richard: My mom works as a security guard.

Domenica: My mom teaches at a pre-school and helps children, and my dad is a military man.

Emilia: My mom works at a fast food restaurant, and sometimes my sister and I help her.

What time does school start, and what time do you go home?:

All five students are in the same class. They start school at 7:00 a.m., and they go home at 12:00 p.m.

How do you get to school? Are you allowed to go to school by yourself?:

Juan: I come to school with my grandpa (abuelito) in our family car.

Tayler: My dad drives me to school in his car.

Richard: Sometimes my mom drops me off at school, or I take the public bus by myself.

Domenica: I walk to school every day.

Emilia: I walk to school with my mom and older sister.

Where do you eat lunch? What is your favorite food?:

Juan: I eat lunch at home, and my favorite food is encebollado (fish stew).

Tayler: My favorite food is encebollado or cheviche de concha con calamar (ceviche is a cold seafood soup. Conchas are clams and calamar is squid). 

Richard: I eat at home. I love encebollado.

Domenica: I go home and eat lunch after school. My favorite food is menestra.
