The weather in Ambato is usually pretty consistent. All year round, the temperature stays between 55 degrees and 75 degrees. This week was no different. Usually, it's hard to determine what the weather will look like all day, as the morning can be cloudy, rainy and cold, and then by the afternoon it can be sunny with clear skies. This past week, it was cold and rainy when I left my house in the morning, and then became so sunny that when I got home I was sweating! However, I never need more than a light jacket when leaving the house.
There are many types of fascinating animals in Ecuador, but you don't see many in the middle of larger cities, such as where I live. The main animals I see on a daily basis that I have also seen this week include dogs, birds, chickens and cats. There are many dogs and cats that wander the streets, and there is even a cat that lives at the school where I teach! However, you must be careful never to pet dogs or cats with which you're unfamiliar!
