The sun lit up the whole week, and I’ve been going everywhere with my sunglasses given how bright and blue the sky has been. The nights go below freezing in the mountains, and even the nights in the valley brought quite cold breezes.
Lots of dogs ran up to me with excitement this week. The dogs in the mountains play much more often since all of the people here love them more than the people in the valley. Lots of wild and domestic yaks graze around the area with the domestic ones having bell collars that jingle with every move they make. As in Simigaun, I’ve seen lots of chauri gai (Himalayan cows) walking through Namche and carrying loads up and down the mountains.
Chomolungma, better known to the Western world as Mount Everest, stands so tall and beautiful among the other great Himalayan mountains like Ama Dablam. Many climbers dream of climbing Ama Dablam because of its exquisite route and views.
