There's a saying in Taiwan, that the weather in Taipei says it will change, and then it changes *like that* (台北的天氣說變就變化 Táiběi de tiānqì shuō biàn jiù biànhuà). Since we are still experiencing winter, here, I only saw the sun maybe twice this week. The other days it was cold and rainy enough to make you bundle up and need your umbrella!
One of my favorite critters to pass by on a night walk is the Malay night heron, which is an interesting bird that kind of reminds me of a chicken and a crane with an interesting caw! As you can probably guess by the name, this bird is pretty active at night: you can find different species just by walking around the rivers and parks!
While it has been cold and rainy recently, it is actually also cherry blossom (櫻花 Yīnghuā) season in other parts of Taiwan! On one of the few sunny days this week, I was very lucky to catch a beautiful tree blooming right by my campus dorm!
