This fiction book takes place in 1993, at the time before Costa Rica became one of the most sustainable countries in the world, and the book highlights the plastic and trash crisis that was ongoing in the country. People called basureros (garbage scavengers) live amongst the waste and compete for the planet’s scarce resources in order to survive.
This week, I was able to check out the university's new gym that is equipped with an indoor and outdoor soccer field, pool and exercise center. My exchange group and I got to take part in some team building activities. We all played a friendly game of soccer, followed by volleyball and then my favorite game of all, rock-paper-scissor wars!
Here's some other news from this week... I just signed up to go on a trip to Panama in April with my exchange group. I am really looking forward to it!
