How far did I travel this week?:

This week I mostly stayed in the city, so I didn't travel too far. However, I went on a whale watch boat with my sister, on which we traveled around 585 kilometers, which is about 364 miles. In Norway (and most other places in the world) they use kilometers to measure distance instead of miles, which takes a bit of getting used to. One mile equals about 0.6 kilometers.

How far have I traveled on this journey so far?:

I started my journey by travelling 3,398 miles (5,469 km) by plane from Boston to Svalbard. Then, in October I flew 596 miles (916 km) to get from Svalbard to Tromsø. Tromsø is a pretty isolated place, so I don't travel too far in my day-to-day life. I've done two trips to Oslo, Norway, though, which was a total of 1,428 miles (2,298 km) each time. That means in total I've travelled about 6,850 miles (11,025 km).

How did I get around this week?:

This week I mostly got around by bus. The bus is really easy to use in Tromsø. There's an app that makes figuring out tickets and schedules very simple. Most places I want to go (my university, the shop and the city center) are only a 15 to 30 minute bus ride. I also walk a lot to get around, especially in the city center.

What was the most interesting place I visited this week?:

The most interesting place I visited this week was an awesome mountain peak overlooking all of Tromsø.
