How far did I travel this week?:

This was a busy week with work, so I only traveled between my residence and the school, which is about 30 minutes by bus or metro between the two. The school is in a very cool area of Paris. If you look at a map of Paris it is separated into 20 arrondissements. Arrondissements are like districts or particular zones of the city. The first arrondissement is in the middle of Paris and the numbers grow in a circular pattern like a design on a snail shell. So the 5th arrondissement, where my school is, is across the Seine river on the other side of the 2nd arrondissement.

How far have I traveled on this journey so far?:

So far I have traveled to Pays Basque, or the French Basque Country, in the south of France. It was a school trip. We took the train for about five hours to the south of France and then took a bus tour around the city before settling into our hotel. The south of France is very beautiful. It was warmer than Paris and we were next to the ocean, so some of us went swimming! From the beaches, you could see the mountains of Spain! It was really beautiful!

How did I get around this week?:

In Paris, I mainly use two forms of transportation: the metro and the bus. Although, I call it the metro, in France there is a system called Réseau Express Régional (RER), which is the regional express network.
